I Regretted Reading, “Just Say No” by Omar Tyree

Have you ever regretted reading a book — which one and why?

I was encouraged to read the book.  I was told, as an author, I would really enjoy the read. So, I bought it and ran home to read it. The emotional rollercoaster had my emotions all over the place, and just when I thought I reached the saddest part, 💥.

The ride is an emotional roller coaster.

I was so sad for the characters lives.  I was literally depressed for weeks. I was told the book was good, and they kept stating it’s a good read, that I’d really enjoy it.  I was not warned that this book would not only tug my emotions, but dragged me through an amusement park of chaotic frenzy.

I thought about the characters almost every day for about 2 months. You would think the characters were my friends or relatives. I remember that book as well as I remember, “Wife of His Youth” by Charles W. Chestnut.

It was a great book but I did regret reading it for a while because it was not only good, but true to life.
